Gotta say it was a pleasure being back out at Longy yesterday in a good nor-easter. Its been a long time between drinks for a lot of the guys there yesterday so it was just great to see around 20 guys on the water at stages yesterday. Not many waves but if you picked it there were a few faces to slash. Water warm and clean, not too crowded and top weather. Bought back a lot of memories and its good to see that it does still work.
A lot of familiar faces and some guys were sailing really well especially Chub, Fabio and Rob Jacobs.

Betcha it made you think of when you lived at Narra and Longy was the place to go in nor-east.
Now that you live "down south" you get more wind but not so many guys to sail with. But at least its not as far to get to Gerroa.

I wouldn't call 20 guys at Longy a small number. That's pretty crowded.

Yeah Longy on its day is as good as anywhere. Its just a pity that its day doesn't come around very often. But there will always be crew out when it does.
I'd love to score a good Makaha day when I'm up there again.

All you guys should move down here. You'd be salivating at the season we've had so far. Its been windy every day for weeks (bar a day or two of rain), and pretty damn regular for months. Best season I've ever seen (hope I haven't jinxed it).

The most I ever see out is maybe 4 guys. Need more crew!

Hardly been to Gerroa this season. The Gong has been cranking. Every nor-easter is 20-25 knots. Sunday blew 30 knots here all arvo, so Gerroa would have been beyond a joke. The heads would have been 1000 knots.
And every southerly has been around the 25-30 mark (except for a couple over 50!)
I've used my 4.2 about 80% of the time.

...and I've got 3 weeks off after this week! (bet it f***ing rains)

havent seen him since last summer when we were at Jimmy's and he sailed over from your side on his slalom board. When you see him next say gidday from Pugs and Larko.
I too remember the shiny green weed on the bottom out at Butterbox. dead flat water to get up to speed then hit those peaks coming around the corner. So much fun.
I thought 20 guys sailing at a place that used to have 5 times that was great to see these days. for many years Longy was a deserted place in a nor-easter. Just didnt get in.
If we can start sailing there again on a regular basis thats gotta be good, and the only shop in Sydney is just around the corner.

He is still ripping.
Even though he not doing as much sailing as he used to he was still cranking out off the lip 360's and one handed aerials with relative ease when we sailed last.
His wave selection remains impecable and his ability to generate speed and spray when going off the top is nothing short of remarkable. His gear has seen better days and I would like to see what he could do with some new kit !
Looks like more wind today up this way... maybe we have more wave session again today... how is Longy looking today ?
