Feel for ya Tonyd.
I think its amazing that all the gear that gets left behind doesnt seem to usually make it back to its owner.
What possible use could some person have for a mast extension??
Around here guys have left spreader bars, harnesses etc and they never get them back. I left a rashy on a fence post this summer and it was gone by the time I went back. That I can understand but not proper windsurfing equipment.
It cant be other sailors snaffling gear (** I really hope not) so what happens to it??
Do kids with attitude chuck it in a bin or the water?
Do oldies think they are doing the right thing and toss it?
Do weirdo's take it home and build a shrine to it??
Or is this just a evil plot hatched by the doyen of the goldy, Greenleader??

I honestly believe if a windsurfer finds it you will get it back especially as everyone knows its a very slow extension and hinders performance.......
Probably alsorts of nomad crazy people hang around there at night and its now being used as some amazing opium pipe in the bushes along the shore line.
Forecast is looking pretty poor for wind and you may not need one until September.
