NOTE to manufacturers: what ever happened to that promo vid thing?
They used to do one eaveyr second season or so, and the NP / Gaastra vids were "sik" as they'd say nowadays. Now it is so cheap to produce they should go back to making those vid's each season (or every second). They could do them for about $20 each and sell bucket loads. Collaboration would help too. Starboard / Severne, NP / JP spring to mind.

Thos eon dialup get shat off by the flash player crap on websites that makes it too slow, and other short vids on the web are free and take ages to download sometimes.
I'd buy a $20 DVD form each of 2 manufacturers every year if they started doing it again.

True. But as I said..... there are a lot of ppl who would pay $20 to have something they don't have to download (and take two days to do it), and can watch with decent sound and not on a 15" screen, and easily show to mates.

I agree - i would love to see more DVDs - i'm working hard to make it happen.

The web thing is cool to get a general idea / preview

BUT

you lose so much quality its not funny - when you go to all the effort of having nice cameras with clean lenses, tripods, housings , getting nice light etc etc its nice to know that eventually the end product will be seen on DVD (or better (HD in future - yum)) preferably on a nice big screen (like the one in windforce)

Downloads really dont cut it quality wise (most crew wont have the patience to download DVD quality even on a phat broadband connection (Between 4MB and 8 MB PER SECOND!)

And even if you do watch it on a computer - the monitor only shows half the frames !! (progressive scan plays havoc with interlaced video) and its heartbreaking to see stuff lose all that great shine.

Most of my work will be released via DVD eventually-

SPACE (the Starboard movie) is coming out free with Windsurf Europe as we speak, All the Severne Code Red, Overdrive, Renegade, Blade clips will be on a DVD soon enough - and Wizards of OZ will be done when i get the time to knock it off)

And for the kiters out there we just had an insane shoot up north for Stance magazine that will be released in the medium term.

Also There is a free Aloha classic DVD with the latest boards (i think) mag.
