I've figured out that my sail is stealing my mast cap, has this happened to anyone else?

And if i was to glue the cap back onto the mast what glue would you suggest?

I had a similar problem with the cap on the bottom half of my mast. A bit of silicone sealant between the plug and the mast did the trick.

The good thing about silicone is that you can get the plug out again if you want, it's not as strong as quik grip, and a lot more flexible.

Shaving the outside of the sail plug would also work, although it would be difficult to get to it (have to get the plug out of the sail first).

Good luck!

I cleaned the inside of the mast and used araldite (as the cap is ribbed so the araldite only has to adhere to the inside of the mast).

Still got sick of having to pull the male bit on the head of the sail out of the female mast top plug......... so just changed all my sails to the cup type thing that is ... well, like an upside down cup with a slot in it that the head strap goes thru. Damn sight easier
