I have a Mistral Classic 276 and I absolutely love it – it's about the best thing I've ever sailed. But, I know nothing about them. I have been under the impression that they were just a rebadged Flow. Can anyone confirm this or is the Classic a different design to the Flow?

Also what was the intended design purpose of the Classic? I guess that it's a slalom board but that curvy nose, heavy vee, and ease of use make me wonder if it was designed as some sort of cross-over board.

I've never been able to find a review or history of these boards. Does anyone have any info on them?

the classic is the exact same shape as the thermoformed (green flows), and the construction is similar, but a little more beefed up. (hence they are a tad heavier) The classic also did away with the pressure valve, and had crappier deck pads. I believe the classic was a slightly cheaper (budget friendly) version of the flow.

You're right about the amount of vee (and also rail lift towards the front), that made both these a super smooth board to ride.

The blue flow (custom epoxy version) was lighter, had a flatter bottom and was therefore faster but not as smooth or manouvreable.
