Hey all, does anyone know about the construction of the JP Freestyle 2013 boards, I had a person decide to sail my board with out the vent plug in, Im not sure how much water got in but have heard rumours some boards have some kinda water resistant spray to the foam or whats eva is inside the board to stop the water seeping in, anyways i am trying to dry the board out, thanks for any help, its kind of ironic that its the first time i had ever taken the vent plug right out for the purpose of letting any moisture in there get out, to have a person take it with out asking, and fill it with water, Murphys Law i guess

It is styro core so it will suck water big time

Search for all the threads here about water removal but at least for now roll up some paper towel to make a long pointy bit that will go in say 3" deep so it hits the core, leave the rest flapping in the breeze and it will draw a lot out

If you weigh the board you would have a fair idea how much water it has absorbed.

just an idea,,,, when you drop your phone in the pool or toilet, you put it in a bag of rice, the rice absorbs all the moisture,,,,,its weird that windsurf boards have a core that sucks in moisture and is weakened by it as well

Hey the avatar is me! Cheat...I do the best catapults..
Put it outside in the sun upsidedown supported by 2 buckets or similar with a wick of paper towel or tissue in the vent ( no plug of course). Check wick regularly and replace if sodden .Repeat until wick is dry..get to it quickly after the incident..I put it on the buckets to get it level but you could probably adjust the heights so that it tilts a little down towards the vent plug area.
