LOL

i am sure that there are many other ways as well. but it used to work when i was younger and hiding windsurfing purchases from my parents that thought i was actually saving for a rainy day. turned out i was saving for a windy day.

Now i am older, have kids and find myself in the i windsurf, you don't relationship. I have found a better solution. plus those that know me, know i haven't a gear bag to my name.
the method i adopt is pretty fair for all involved. Was worked out mutually as well.

i realised it wasn't fair to spend heaps on myself and leave my wife out of the picture. so these days i just come clean and say.
darling, i think you should go and treat yourself. she responds with what piece of kit are you after now. [}:)]
so my last windsurfing purchase was equalled with a $700 gym membership for the wife. all's fair in love and war.
ultimatley means the purchases are fewer but it is all up front and equal. a definate win win situation. i can also pull out the credit card in my favourite windsurfing shop and not be shot.
obviously there are times when i go without. budgets are budgets. but we both see it as pampering. we just pamper with different things.
so if you can't find another tail piece then the above method will work.
p.s. there were some really good posts a few months back about how everyone justifies there time on the water to the family. I did a search but couldn't find them. worth a read for the laugh if you can track them down.
