now that we have an official race board for the 2008 olympics. How many people are interested/going to sail it and of those how many from formula are planning to convert?

Hey Pole Boy,
I read your other post about the olympic board and all the comments.
'Bout time is true, same for the other yachting classes.
We'd love to focus more youth into windsurfing and have been working to introduce young'ns into the sport for years.
Speaking of which you were asking for a show of hands as to tose likely to buy into the new olympic class.
Last Formula event in Perth was attended by around 30 sailors and I reckon the average age was 40. Not too many olympic aspirees there!
I understand that the new olympic board will not be generally available commercially but through Member Yachting Associations (for us Yachting Australia) it may have a different slant on how and who promotes the class.

the boards will be imported through Eastcoast boardriders as they do all Pryde gear. it should be available comercially with the boards expected in late january/feburary. for more info on that contact sam parker, bill joselin should also know more about how itis to be marketed. i think you will find only a few of these sold and probably only to the youths who were really into the imco's.
