I am looking to purchase a sail around 6.5m and not sure whether to get new or used or the brand? This will be my second season windsurfing and I have a 5.5m, I have a 103l Mistral Flow board and am unsure of what to look for, any ideas/advice???

Hi there,
Just a word of warning about buying prototype sails. They are made for testing not for strength ,hence their name. Best advice is don't go near protos with a barge pole,as they do not last.

G'Day timmaaee!!
Do yourself a favour and go for a new sail! Mark and Reg at Windsurfing Perth have special buys where say Neil Pryde will send them a print-out of sails available at discount in bulk - ie 30 of NP Diablo 7.5m - they get a good price and sell them on cheaply. I am sure other shops are into the same thing... I saved about $200 on new season sale and Reg showed me how best to rig her up. See if you can grab a discount for cash at most shops.

Go see Jez at 2nd wind 9317 2916, look for a 12 to 18 month old Tushingham. You'll notice they have quite thick monofilm which will last longer against harmfull U.V. light which breaks down monofilm. Their wind range is amazing and you'll get good value for money with a reputable sail, that young.
