Prompted by some of the clubs, we've created some new State based forums, with the blessings of the official associations of NSW, VIC & QLD.

We're hoping these new forums will provide an excellent focused area for the everybody to discuss state issues, and further the excellent work the associations already do.

It's all about making great sports better! Yee-haaaaaaa!

To infinity & beyond!

p.s. The first question might be "where's Windsurfing WA?" .. they declined the offer!

They probably don't need the exposure, memberships must be booming again!

I would have thought it would be the ideal place to let the average windsurfer know WWA actually exists.

You would be suprised how many people have never heard of them.

It's not like eveyone is going to stop using their forum.

Windsurfing SA?

and why is tassie allways left out

That's put the cat amongst the pidgeons!

These two were not included because I was unable to location an actual Windsurfing body for SA / Tas (or NT) ?

It's not like eveyone is going to stop using their [windsurfing wa] forum.

WWA don't currently have a forum?

Yeah i reckon we need a Windsurfing SA section. Theres a few guys organising some events around the place here so theres clearly some sort of an 'organisation' i think.

as much as individual states is great in theory, there might not be enough tassie / SA members to have a Tassie / SA forum, so as far as I'm concerned, you guys/gals are welcome in the QLD forum http://fc01.deviantart.com/images/i/2003/49/a/b/Hug_emoticon___v2 + it's healthier to include a variety of quality genes

Looks like what was intended to be a good thing has opened a whole tin of worms!

The issues so far:
* Request for SA
* Request for NT
* Request for TAS
* Can they all be turned off?
* Someone has already been flamed for posting a QLD topic in General.

Here's our reasoning:

- We believe busy forums are best, so we will look at SA/TAS/NT if there is good usage of the new state forums. Not keen on having a forum with 3 posts in 3 months. We've done this before, and it just waste peoples time.

- We do hope that "state related" talk might move into these new forums, (but it doesn't have to) .. the point being that folks can freely talk about local stuff without "getting in the way" of mainstream traffic, but unless momentum builds up, that might just end up dead...crazy as it sounds, for many, it's simply too hard to navigate from the "General" to another category.

How about we let it run for a while and see how it goes?

So its been a while. I think it has been significantly slower in General since the change, although it is probably seasonal as well.
What do you all think now?

Its great this way. The best this site has ever been
I dont read the GPS section and I dont have to see banana bending flat water Train or Shearwater threads posted every second thread.
This sport has many different angles to approach it with.
Segregation is great
