Anyone out there from Newcastle, recently moved up from Sydney, would like to know local wavesailing spots around Newcastle?

Not from there, but have sailed there a fair bit.
Nor-easters, head to Nobby's Beach. Nice reef break.

Southerlies they seem to sail at Towoon Bay or Blacksmiths Beach most of the time. Both great spots.
There are other spots they sail. I'm sure a local will jump on here soon and fill you in a bit better than I can.

A lot of the guys from up there are members of the NSW Wavesailing Assoc. (www.nswwavesailing.org) You should join.

Im from Newie and qwerty is spot on, lots of local sailors and make sure you ask one where the gaps in the reef are at nobbys beach, it will save you a fin.
