Looks like Sydney could be getting some ok wind this Saturday. Where's the best place to go in a South Westerly? Who's going to be out?

Hi I'm out of action at the moment with a major Flu Virus so missed the great NE winds we had last weekend. Here's a guide developed by one of the local sailors for Botany Bay which is the best wind area in Sydney. http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~philnott/botany.htm
My pick for a SW would be spots 5 & 6 - Foreshore Drive Botany or Little Bay, the latter is more confined but better bump and jump. The spots are within a few mins drive of each other so you can have a look at both. I'll be out there if I'm fit by then but I'm sure all the locals willl be there.

Crash Landing, if you see a guy on Exocet Original Wave 85 (Blue Graphics) that would be me, come and sey hello. If the forecast sticks I'll probably be on a Naish Force 5.3 -Blue & Black, or if it's really good a NP 4.7 Zone, Gold / copper colour.

here my picks for Botany based on wind direction:
N: Dolls Point
NE: Kyeemah (across the road from the Shell gas station), wind strongest around 4pm, if it's blowing NE 12-15knts. at lunch time and there are now thunderstorms brewing in the south west there is almost guaranteed to be 28 knts. come 4pm.
S-SE: Kyeemah (across the road from the Shell gas station), wind generally best the 2 hours after a front has hit, fyi: watch Belambi Point, once the station there picks up a southerly chance it take between 40 and 50 minutes before it hits Sydney, this works almost everytime
SSW: Dolls Point, sometimes La Perouse
W-SW: La Perouse
NW: Kurnell
So on Saturday La Perouse will probably be best in a SWer if you are talking Botany Bay.

Thanks for all the info. I'd be keen to give Long Reef a go, but I'll be with a mate who's trying to learn to use the harness and footstraps, so it'll be Botany I think.
I'll keep an eye out for an Exocet. I'll be on an old F2 Wave or (potentially) a starboard freesex...
See you out there.

Longy was unreal from 10:00am - 2:00pm some nice waves on the lower tide at 12pm-1pm although some bigger sets and slightly gusty wind made it harder to get out after 1pm. I should have stuck with my starboard and not used my 68ltre custom but with nice walls lining up with cross off wind of 20knt it was unreal. SW always seem to blow earlier in the morning at Longreef so get there a little early - one guy was checking it at 7:30 but the waves were ****.
It was great to see Brad on his new gear carving up 4' waves liek aman possessed.

Unfortunately I didn't get out the flu still had me. I'm not sure what was more painful, the flu or not being able to get out when the wind was going....hopefully this W/E.

I got to sail with Brad and around 12 other guys out at Longy on Saturday.
Was great to see Brad out there making his mark on the new board.
It's an 86 Fantactic FreeWave and he was ripping.
Once he spends a few more hours on the board he'll be back to his slashing best.
Even saw him nailing a nice little one handed forward off some chop.
The wind was alittle gusty at times but when the sets came in it was like glass.
Down the line lip smacking goodness... please Huey can we have some more !
