Hi
I am just about to relocate to Broadwater in NSW (Ballina - not surfers)for work and am hoping that someone may be able to help with sailing locations where i will not be sailing alone. I have done a bit of research through the net and this forum and cannot find much info.
Looking for a bit of not too challenging sea sailing ( and/or flat water). have waveboard and 95 litre FSW so just looking for some fun relaxing sailing
Any advice /contacts appreciated
many thanks in advance

If you don't mind a little travel - a few Balina flat water sailors head to Yamba (about 80k - 1hr -south) for NorEasters off whiting beach can wave sail Pipi beach there too! Don't know about Balina itself.

Hey there,
I moved to Byron a couple of months ago so finding my feet up here too. While in general I'm seeking wave locations I've just got back from a nice sail at The Pass in Byron in a northerly - typical bump and jump conditions and quite relaxed.
Otherwise I believe flat water sailors sail from the yacht club on Ballina River in E/W conditions.
Lennox Beach in a NE is chilled too depending on the swell.
There are a few sailors around. I've always found someone on days I've picked to go out.
Good luck and enjoy.

Try Flat Rock between North Ballina and Lennox, its great in a southerly....

hmmm just out of interest, are you working at the sugarmill?
Anyway, yamba is a good bet, its almost exactly 1hr drive (possibly a bit far?) from broadwater. Last summer when I was working in broadwater, i would drive home (yamba) and catch an hour or 2 of sailing most arvo's after work.
Ballina is closer, and possibly byron maybe, but dunno about sailing spots around there.
