They have always had three holes haven't they? All my sets do/had.

Having said that, they are done with an 'imperial' spacing at half an inch and require an adjustment with the soldering iron to match up a 'metric' board. I swapped a set onto a Mistral not long ago and had to enlarge the holes for it.

I wanted to put a set of Supremos on it, but they have the rubber/plastic bit that you can't really change/enlarge.

oh? maybe this is old news. sorry folks

this is my 5th set since 2006. the last time i bought some i think they had tiny little holes on the outside and one large one in the middle. i'm sure the 2006 ones i bought had no outside holes

i wonder if they updated the holes in the last 18 months or in the past i just bought older stock maybe?

Yeah, I don't know. My first set were on a Hifly Madd, which is about a 2003 or 2005 model, and it had them as their anti-twist insert goes through the two outside holes.

Either way, as you know its no drama opening them up with a soldering iron.

I think I have/had about the same number of sets as you. When you are on to a good thing stick with it!

No worries. They might have changed, but I have only seen the three hole ones.

I know for a while there I couldn't find any locally, but luckily they seem to have a good supply of them in the US.

Just out of interest, are you using the outside holes for the anti-twist or are you using two hole inserts?

...should you be advertising that you have a soldering iron?
