Great. have been working all day. I have to go out for dinner. Out the front of my house it is about Double Mast and gusting 40 knots. Rideable, if your name is Laird. Not that i could play in that. But it is totally off the Dial. Maybe i will get out tomorrow. I have a 4.2 for sale. Any takers?
there were at least 20 guys all out at shearwater yesterday. it was like sailing in the 1980's! Hopefully paul got some video footage. Must have been around 35 - 40 knots too. Hopefully do it all again today (sunday)
oh i'll be going to shear water again today hopefully it dies down just a little i think that 25 is enough be good to see a wave sailor come down and have a play on the 1.5 meter swells we were getting yesturday
I'll be there t'sarvo.I think. Would be good to use my new 4.2 again. But i think it may die down. The swell is still too crazy. I will try to get keen to drive an hour for a flat water session in the rain. I probably need to practise my gybes anyway.
I'm thinking a nice cup of tea and a biscuit. OOOPS!!! Er i mean, a windsurf DVD and a beer. Lots of beers. And wild women. Party at my house. What am i saying? might just have a little lie down.
my special tree-o-meters are bending over at the base hope it eases back to a nice gentle 25knots by lunch time. not sure if body can handle 3 days in a row of this stuff
hey guys thought I would just add to this banter, well I never thought I would say it but, my smallest sail, a 5.8 is a tad too big for the goldy!! lol, oh my god, had maybe 100 slaps straight back in trying to water start!! and was a battle holding the tail walking beast down thru the big wind swell in the centre of the chanel at shearwater. Have to say it was awesome to see so many boards on the water yesterday in such big wind for here.
looks like id better kit myself up with some 4m stuff!
see you all up there this arv, Ill go take a look, if it drops down a bit to the early 30 kn range ill be right I think, if not it will be cool just watching everyone else.
well?....... was it good today boys? it was looking a bit inclement and my wettie zipper busted. and i was hung as a new caledonian fruitbat. still, no more excuses from me. windy as saturday?
I got up there about 2pm, stood around for 1/2 hour then rigged the 5.8 again, was good, even a bit fluffy at times, so the lads with the 4's to 5m were falling off the wind a bit, hey Northboy, that was me yacking to you under the tree. Was awesome to be out there and not overpowered like saturday!
Dave was definetly putting in the hard yards on saturday!
I think he pulled a few water starts off actually.
nothin like a stiff 35 knot wind to learn the basics
what an arvo, I drifted halfway out to sea myself once, trying to teach myself how to waterstart, i think hero fo the day goes to our Japanese friend ( female ) for rigging up and hitting the water with her 5m sail, well done!!
