Intermediate windsurfer here that hasn't windsurf for a long time. I decided to start to windsurf again and freshen up my old equipment a bit. Also I want to paint and restore my board just to play around and learn how to make a repair. Purpose of this post is to ask about the idea of fixing the board, buying a new fin and boom.

I got a Fanatic Eagle 110lt from 2003. You can see it by by searching: fanatic eagle 110 "2004" fanatic shark.

I also got two sails (4.7 and 5.2), a boom, and a mast. I am in a really nice place wind-wise that easily gets 17-30 knots across many days in summer months and then gets maybe stronger in winter. I can waterstart and plan, I've jumped a couple of times but can't jibe. The spots I go are inshore, I think, and we get from small to medium waves and big ones in stormy days.

My aim is to get better then get a really small board/sail and do wave and jumps. Not interested in large sails and speed.

Board-wise: After I finnish fixing a small damage on the nose, painting it, replacing pads and footstraps then I would like to buy also a new fin. The board's standard fin is 34cm. It looks tired by the years and has a few pieces missing in some parts. I read in the forum about fins and I am thinking of buying the below fin in 28cm you think I'll be OK?

I remember spinning out on that board but I now believe it was due to bad technique and set up and not because of the fin.

Rig-wise I'd like to buy a boom that I like because the used one I had was heavy and terrible to look at. I started looking at cheap aluminium ones but I ended up wanting to buy the one belo for 350 (used). I wanted to ask if it is too expensive with not much benefit to offer?

Those sails are right on the edge of too small on that board.
You didn't mention your weight but that's a factor.

Agreed. Making sure you are on the right type/size of board for you skill level and conditions is the most important. Right sail size for the wind your in is next most important. The board size changes quite dramatically as you get better, so don't invest too much time and effort in fixing something that you may not end up using long term.

Booms and masts of the kind of things that you don't change as often as sails, so you can make a case for spending more on those things even at this stage as they last a long time generally. However it's going to make a marginal physical difference at your stage so I would just hit the water with what you have. And buy replacement when stuff breaks or it isn't the correct size.

You will spend more money on gear, I just don't think you know now exactly what you need the most, as mentioned above it may be a bigger sail
