I was up there about 2 months ago staying with Glenn. There are a few local Windsurfer/kiters. I believe some regulars day trip up every now and then like Stuey and Corey.
The location is similar to most NW wave spots, Dangerous. It's a fair distance offshore, if things go wrong you will possibly have to make a decision to say goodbye to your sail or kite gear and paddle. You would want to be fit. Each time I've been out there is a strong outgoing current between the 2 reefs.
I ended up kiting inside the reef on the flat water. Which was a good thing, as my equipment failed and I ended up about a 1k downwind before hitting land. If I was out the back in the waves when it happened I would have been in big trouble.
Good spot on it's day but NEVER NEVER go out alone like the experienced locals.
BTW A certain fisherman he dosn't bull sh!t, told me that he caught the biggest shark in his long fishing career right there. Just a thought.[}:)]
