See the thread on the kitesurfing forum. This is the best spot to windsurf from and windsurfing is denied access also.

Frant,
I was there last weekend, for windsurfing it still looks good from the 'first car park'. There is a gravel car park with a nice grass rigging area, it might get crowded during summer is the only drama. Unless they block access to the first car park completely it should still be ok for windsurfing.

There is no access to the 'kite beach' further south though and rigging for kite's is pretty limited at the first car park.

I can see why they'd close it.......kiters/windsurfers creating havoc!!! (load of CRAP!!!)

I've 'sailed' there once, 2 other w/surfers & 1 kiter were there.....
Watched 3 kiters there another time!!! All were parked on the tracks (vehicle access), and packed-up & cleaned-up after themselves.

I'm all for preserving our natural environment, but in this case there's a 'thumping-big' alumina factory on this land, and I can't see why a few 'environmentally-thoughtful' people that enjoy utilising nature's gift and outdoor sports get punished!!!

They'll eventually shut all coastal access, it's the same scenario with beaches!!! the 'recreational' fishers are (apparently!!!)ruining the beaches and dunes!!! I beach-fish, the 'crap' washed up on the beach is from ships and run-off from stormwater areas, I go there, catch nothing (but enjoy the sunset/serenity), pick-up my, and whatever other rubbish is around me, and go home....

Don't prosecute the ones that look after the coastline!!!

I've had my say!
