Nothing better than the arrival of your new custom board, the smell, the anticipation of all your design work with your shaper taking over your lounge.
I'm currently looking at a new SSD Stone Surf Design and it must be said the consistancy of the craftmanship and flowing lines plus the construction are the best you can get.
This has been reconised by Severne and Star boards, with Stoney doing protos and son Jagger the hottest young talent in Aus,so it looks like every one's going to be a winner.

So what are the pros and cons you've experianced over the years

G'Day Langy,
Saw Cory's new Stony at Geary's last weekend, one sweet board.
I was trying to get superlight Burford blanks a few years ago, but for the quantity I wanted they weren't interested. So I bought myself a big block of stryo foam, (now half way thru) A year or so later, I discovered Mark had talked them into it. Only another 4 or 5 boards to go, and I'll probably switch back to urethane & polyester. Cheaper, closed cell without the toxic problems of epoxy. Has to be a good way to go.
Are you going to be back in Gero this season???

I saw you checking out my board Mike.
Finally, polyester as good as epoxy light, strong and waterproof.
Going Off. Gearies rocks.

Langy, was this a question to me???
If so, I'm helping Hardie bring one of his dreams into reality. It's a 10-18 knot ocean board, not initialy meant to be a wave board, but the way it's developing I think it will be OK, especially down here in the small to medium stuff. It remains to be seen how well it works in bigger swell. He'll have it at Gereo in the school hols, (should be finished by then) watch out for a big lemon yellow beast, with a wave wands logo.

corey's got a new board ! the last one was just about solid jarrah with all the stringer repairs in it. He might be able to go sailing in under 35 knots now. The old one should be in a museum.

Yes Mr Cheeseroll, I can now go out with my 5.8 in 15 knots like everyone else and carve it up. I'm sure I'll be able to jump higher than all you epoxy crew as well. Have you given up sailing mate or is it too cold for skinny crew? Trust life is well, though we do need to work up a good hangover soon............Corey
