I need a quick answer on this one and can't phone a shop. Is there any major structural difference between the JP Pro edition and the epoxy boards? I want to buy a pro edition because they are so much lighter but am worried that because I am in the process of learning freestyle I will trash the board before I can afford a replacement. So my question I guess is will I notice a difference in lifespan between the Pro and the Expoy Boards? Cheers
Greeny Leech and Zed WHAT THA ! what are you guys doing posting on the net at that time of the day err it was windy !!!! Gazza and I were ripping apart some little head waves down at Leightonbig hold onto the belly smiles at that.
ditto that. I refuse to do any work on friday on principle alone.
I had the day off school today along with many schools in adelaide. We got the day of for the Adelaide show which was good. Ovcourse i don't go to the show i just enjoy the sleep in.
Hey Lanky, You'll have to check the details, but Ive got a feeeling they are different constructions, (the pro being carbon kevlar and the standard being wood) you definately notice the difference in weight!Ive got a pro edition and its sick, super light which I love, especially if you r using it for freestyle on lake Pupuke. If you have the chance to go feel one in a shop, do it and youll see how light it is.
From having tried out both wood (standard) and the carbon keval (pro edition) versions I would always go with the lighter pro edition. It's only about $200 more on the RRP but in my opinion the pro edition is not just lighter but also feels stiffer.
This will make a difference in the FSW, Slalom and RRWave range. The FSW I tested got quicker on the plane and stayed planing through lulls a lot better.
As far as difference in durability goes it's to early to say. Given that JP really improved their quality over the last 3 years I don't expect their to be a lot of problems with either construction method.
I for one am already waiting for the shippments to come in so I can get a pro edition for myself.
Sorry Jonny P but I beg to differ. It's all relative really. Trimming 1kg off something that weighs 7kg's is quite a big thing - to afford such a weight reduction you'd need to lose a leg to do likewise on a person - or at least one of Stehseglers man boobs. Anyway I'd go with quality over hype - Exocet for me.
