The banning of kiting allover the state doesnt bother me (in fact i hate it when they try and teabag on the waves near me, maybe some education on their behalf will fix that).
I very much doubt they will get onboard a "banning" train. I think it has alot to do with kiters having up to 30m lines that really r quite dangerous and their launching and retrieving of their kites can be dangerous to bystanders.
Dunno bout u guys but i havent seen any windurfers being dragged down the beach lately.

It mostly comes down to a safety thing. If u drop ur windsurfing rig it stops, if u drop a kite its quite likely to fly off down the beach and injure ppl. If kiters wanna launch and retrieve kites they should do it in an isolated area away from the public then there will be no quams with the council. The onus falls on the kiters. if they launch out the front of the sea search and rescue building then they r just asking for a banning.
so pls ask all ur kiter friends to launch from the S.S.R. so they can keep the break clean of tbaggers in the future.
I doubt the gingin shire council will ban windsurfing coz lano is the home of the Ocean classic and brings in heaps of ppl to the town.
