I agree that this clash is bit of a pain. Had a chat with simon at board crazy and he mentioned that the WQ guys did not no about the tabou at the time they set the calender - it seems there has not been much in the way of advertising apart from the net.

This is just second hand info so may be as true as it is false - but if it is the case then the organisers might appreciate the feedback so that local clubs can organise their calenders.

Looks like their will be great wind for the sunday and then into the Aust wave sailing at the start of the week.

Good luck to all.

Can all competitors please take a look at the notice of race on the web site as there have been some minor changes. Things to note are the start time (registration from 12.00 briefing at 12.30) and entry fee of $20.00 to help pay for food and drinks and also the nice trophies we have arranged.

I just got off the weather site (BOM) also and i think everyone should pack some small kit just in case their prediction comes through. They are forecasting 25-30, i know i could go a bit of that for the final race (glad i'm not in the support boats though).

from my dodgy calculations of the wind moving up the coast, if it continues at this rate (moving up at about 100kms every 2 - 2.5 hours) it looks like brisbane will get the change at about midday.

fingies crossed, both the tabou and the formula will have a great day, even with showers

Notice to all State Title Competitors:

It looks like there are two alternatives for today's wind forecast so we all need to prepare for both scenarios today.

Please ensure you are at Manly by at least 12.00 today for sign on. If the wind has kicked in early and is as strong as predicted then we will need to get the event underway quickly. Ideally we need to have all of the paperwork sorted before 12.30 (sign on/Disclaimers etc) so we can hold a briefing at 12.30 and beguin racing by at least 1.30.

If the wind isn't as strong as expected then the pressure will be off and we can play it all by ear but it would be a shame to miss a high wind event if the opportunity exists.

Either way we are looking at a great day on the water.

PS: Good luck to those in the Tabou wave event, it looks like the conditions will be great for you as well. Hopefully next year we can be more coordinated so we don't cross over the events. It is something i would really like to see or be involved with also.

Cheers,

Hey Gestalt, Well the wind didn't live up to expectations yet again.
One min there was enough for a 6.0 then just planing with a 7.5.
I changed sails 3 times errr just one of those days.
We did get 3 races done so enough for a result.
congrats to Sean O'Brian see www.windsurfingqld.com/ for full race results tom.
