Typical. you canetoads are going to have heaps of wind whilst us cockroachs have nothing. Does Wello work in the forecast direction. Sailed there a long time ago (Qld speed trails) behind a sandbar and it was super flat.
best of luck, Ill try and get some GPS runs in.

Hey Grant Unfortunatly the bank only works in a NE mostly SE this time of year But the eastern side not too bad prob 1 foot of chop depending on the tide.
Had a great session today hope toms the same.

Mike have you sailed the Northern end of the bank at all in a SE? All the time I look at the way it kicks round to the ultimate angle and I wonder weather the wind is touching back down early enough to get a decent run up.

Gday Sam We had a pretty wild weekend last week anything from 15 to 35knots. I had my 6.0 rapid fire up some would say im mad but it was pretty gusty LOL. The board I was using was a custom WINDACTION 90litre and some of my own fins. David M had a 5.0 up on one of Steve Allan custom Falcons. I think it was even too windy for some.
I think it’s a great idea the GPS event it can be organising at the last minute with very little effort. Would there be any interest down south in such an event. Maybe even an interstate challenge.
Although Ive heard you were once a Queenslander .
Happy sailing Vando

Sam,

I was running with 5.7 on an 80 L board initially and getting laid flat during the gusts. Changed down to a 4.7 on the 80 L Naish Enduro for my best speeds. Vando scored his fastest time on a 5.0 if I'm not mistaken after changing down from a 6.0.

There were some wild conditions - very gusty and not much flat water.

Your right drjukka I did rig a 5.0 on Sat at Manly.
And yes that was my fastest time for the event however I did go faster on the Fri with my 6.0. Hard to say weather I could have gone quicker on the 6.0 on Sat at Manly. I know on past experience I have gone quicker with the 6.0.

Didnt think anyone sailed at Manly anymore.Last time I went to Wello
there were lots of kites and no windsurfers (+15 knots). Too much of
a **** fight to get a park (day trippers) so went home. Will make a trip back one day.

HI Vando,

We definately have some interest in an event like you ran up there. I'll have a bit of a chat to some of the guys this weekend and get something running over winter when the fronts come on through.

Behind the runway would be as good a spot as any as long as the wind comes through ok.

Sam.
