I have these roof racks which are total crap for my Nissan Navara. Brand, "Prorack"

The first thing to go wrong was the end caps. Just fell off and gone.
Next was the plastic covering the bars, just started to peel off and keeps going.
Finally, most frustrating and worrying is the fact that they will not stay fixed to the roof. They keep coming loose, so i reset and tighten further, but then on trip with the boards and have to retighten. I'm afraid that i'm going to lose my gear. Need to do something before the season starts.

So i'm going to ditch them and get some better quality racks.

Has anyone had similar experience and what would you recommend? I'm looking at Rhino-Rack as replacements.... Thoughts?????

Rhinos for me too, 5 years old and as good as new

Rola Racks, Had a pair on my Commodore wagon for 17 years. Multiple sups, slalom boards and still going strong.

Had a pair of Thule racks that outlasted the car (94 camry) now five years into a pair of rhinos and they seem pretty good.

Assuming that they are the clamp over the non existing roof gutter type?
Get a track setup for the roof its the strongest way.

I'm with you Vpar - I just set the pro rack up in the correct position for my car and put large bolts to secure them in place so they don't come loose anymore. Really annoying every time I headed up or down the coast I had to stop at least once to tighten the roof racks. Will I buy Pro Rack roof racks again -NO WAY!!

Yeah they are the clamp over I have ordered a set of rhino racks, should get them today.

Didn't know that a rail/track setup could be installed after market. The Proracks are cheaper than the rhino. I should learn my lesson and not be such a tighta*** in the future. But sometime you get what you can afford at the time to get by

worked in a windsurf shop that installed racks for a while years ago - Thule are the best general use roofracks around, Rhino are great too if you need heavier duty ones. Prorack are well...definitely not pro :P
