Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for beginner lessons in Sydney? My girlfriend is keen to get a lesson or two before our honeymoon in Maui

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for lessons in Sydney, would need kit provided.

Would lessons have started already or is it too early?

Cheers,
Adam

Balmoral Boards do lessons at Balmoral beach and the new Windsurfnsnow (formally Longreefsailboards) can do lessons at Narrabeen. Both have the soft Starboard Go's i think. My wife enjoyed her lessons on Maui apart from the bruises to her shins she got using a Hifly widestyle at Kanaha Beach Park. Lessons on Maui are great and really well organised but expect to pay US 70 for a 2 hour small group lesson. I found it worthwhile getting the lessons though rather than teaching myself. Have you been before and do you know where to sail.
Cheers Tim

I recommend wet suit trousers for your girlfried as a possibilty or a wetsuit with long legs. We got some made with extra protection on the shins. This saves leg scratches and sore knees. They also help protect against coral cuts.

Hi Adam,

Great to hear your girls keen to get on the water, we need more people out on the water.
Sydneys newest windsurfing shop Southsidesailboards is also running lessons. The lessons are run in botany bay and are run by very experienced instructors on starboard and gaastra gear. If you would like more info on the lessons please checkout our website www.southsidesailboards.com and give our instructor a ring (having problems with our e-mails at the moment).
