Hi, I am looking forward to trying out Safety Bay on the long w.e. Can anyone recommend a camping ground where I can stay (sleeping in van). Any special tips for a first time visitor (intermediate level)to SB will be most welcomed. Many thanks.

To reinforce - a Weed fin is not an optional extra - it's essential. Flat water in the bay itself, bump and jump to the East of the bay, and there is usually some swell (conditions permitting) if you sail out to the West side of Penguin Island.

Here's hoping we all get blown off the water

Yeh, weed fin a must and watch out for the sandbars when the tide gets low.....ankle deep in places

Other than that it's great. Sail out the bay, across the sound, upwind of the bay, across the front of penguin island inbetween penguin and seal islands. Around the back of penguin island, across to the three sisters......

Hang on a minute...what am I doing in this office? where's all the water and wind gone?

On the grass with a six pack and a sunset while your gear dries.
