I've herd that Boggy Lake is to shallow to sail at anymore. I havn't been there for a while but is this true? The guy at Glasscraft told me people are mainly sailing at Milang now. Goolwa is prity much to shallow. Can't have a fin any longer than 33cm. How deep is Boggy Lake now though?

if we don't get good rains then Lake Bonney will probably be one place that will have some water(fresh water) deep enough to sail in.

I was only thinking Milang might have to be the next spot to sail at now, I am not sure if Boggy is sailable, goolwa is definately very low. I did hear of crew sailing on the seawater side of the barages at Goolwa,

Some wind would be nice too :(

Hi guys,

Sailed Milang 2 weekends ago. Spot is good has toilets, shops, all facilities. Sailed offshore north westerley - had some good 4 - 5 km runs out into main lake. Speed could be okay but may not be quite as good as boggy. At the moment Boggy is very shallow on north westerly but may be okay on southerly directions.

Good sailing to you wherever it may be. The weekend is currently looking good - Bring it on!!!

Cheers,

Carl Macdonald

Wow dat photo is bad. How deep does it get all the way accross. Is it like waist deep or not even that? biggest fin we got is 50cm so would it work or not?

Anyway if you guys are all sailing somwhere else it's better to sail with others. We might have to try this Milang place sometime soon. Currently repairing a board and sail from our last holiday and cant go out this weekend because my dads on camp with his class at school. So i'm heaps pissed about that.

Anyway hope to seya soon.

Wow Boggy looks kinda sick ....but there is a positive, good time to clean out the lake and if you all get busy with shovels you guys could build a good sandbar for speed runs once the water returns

Bugga shovels, at goolwa beach people took down a tractor at night and built a 45m long and 1.5m high d*** on the beach right infront of the car park. It was great all the little kids were playing on it. I must say it was very well crafted and built prity solid. Took about 5 days of waves and tides to take it away. So yeah bugga the shovels thats the way to do it.

Hi DZUB,

The want to block off the inlet(cahmbers creek) into the lake to stop the salty water from draining out into the river. They will probably do it next month, the lake recieves alot of salty ground water so it will never dry out.If we don't get good rains in the next month Lake Bonney will be the only place that people could do water sports along the river in S.A because the river will become to shallow for boating.
