Well, the southerly wind kicked in, and down I went to the bay. Got a prime parking spot too. Then I pulled out my sails and boom to start rigging up, then went to get my mast. NOT THERE !!!

Well, just sat around and stared at the water for an hour before going back home - very annoyed, and not looking forward to the chores I had to do when I got back. I'd had a shocker of a week at work, and had been looking forward to getting out Sunday arvo no matter what it was like.

Aaaaauuuugggghhhhhhhhhhhh!

(Thanks to the nice fellow who offered to lend me a mast, but alas by that time, it was almost time for me to go home.)

Poor Harrow.

well look at it this way, at least u didn't forget your mast base instead, coz its usually the last thing you put together after you rig up, and then u realise - so atleast u didn't rig up for nuthing

its a bit like only taking your big sails when you really should have taken the size smaller ... and there is not enough time to go home then back to the beach ...

Ey Harrow,

We've all been there, once I forgot my board

Now I've got a checklist stuck to the fridge, it's got everything I need to take on it, just before locking up I run through the checklist. I did that after forgetting my harness for the 5th time...

Yeah, a gear bag seems the way to go. I'd already returned to the house twice to grab things I'd forgot, but I never thought I'd forget a mast !!!

Checklist sounds like a brilliant idea. I'll start putting mine together tomorrow. (Once forgot to take my boots snow skiing as well. Had to hire some after shelling out $$$ to buy some that fit properly.)

Thanks guys,
Harrow.

Oh yeah, the harness is the worst thing to leave behind - because technically speaking, you can get out there and sail, but practically speaking, well, it's just not practical.

I remember going out after forgetting my harness, and trying to hold my harness line with my teeth to give my arms a bit of a rest. Seriously! (Maybe that's why my harness lines used to wear out so quick.)
