As all of our wavesailing breaks get more and more crowded, I've heard a rumour that there is a great wavesailing spot at White Hills code named Spot XY.

White Hills is serious 4wd only, so this place could never get really crowded, don't suppose anyone out there is willing to admit to having sailed it, or share a teeny bit of info about it??

yes i know where you are talking about
melros picks up most of the mandurah swell but during summer there are limited waves in mandurah ive never seen anyone sail white hills im guessing you would be alone if you did and im sure if you get hurt or into trouble its a long slog back to the main road im not sure of swell size in that area and not to sure of any direct access to spot XY but ive accessed XY from tims thicket heading south

White Hills is about 15 kms south of Dawesville Cut, accessed via White Hills Rd. Stretch of about 20-30 kms of sand which goes thru to Preston Beach.

Talking to some surfing heads, apparantly 4 to 5 kms south of top of White Hills Sand dunes at the beginning, there's an outer reef that breaks 3mts plus (About 1 to 2 kms off shore) apparantly once someone saw someone surfing it but they had a boat that took them out and waited.

But the place I heard about wasn't too far off shore.

Thanx Greenroom, sth of Timms Thicket also sounds like a place worth trying as someelse mentioned it would be worth a go on a strong southerly.

Found it, About 30 sufers on it this morning, 15 4wd's parked.

Not a great wavesailing break though, more a surfing wave.

Both Left and Right breaks, R being the better.

The Rotto swell was 3.2 metres, and you'd be lucky to get more than one sweeping bottom turn as it goes into deeper water and peeters out, imagine on a smaller swell, the launch is gnarly lot's of exposed reef, and the sand track is very soft, let air out of your tyres stuff "I got Bogged", high clearance 4wd only. I only live 15 mins from it and I wouldn't bother, Should be called Spot TT not XY.
