Any opinions on Blade and S1? Which would suit a light weight (68kg) sailor who like sails to feel very neutral. Also who is the distributor in NSW and what are the retail prices?

Light guys tend to get along better with the s1 due to the finer foiling.

Having said that i know light guys that like the blades for the square clewed out bottom turn style riding - especially onshore - that a slightly fuller foil gives you. The blades are a little tougher too.

Retail prices are in the $700 s.

Great sails currently kicking ass all over the planet.(Current world wave champ is ripping on em !, 4 out of the top 5 at the oz nationals were using them too.

By the way i work for the distributor, Auswind so i have first hand experience riding the s1s.Scotty Mckercher rides the blades so they must work pretty well too.

i don't know if the 2005 sails have fixed this but the 2004 blades (i don't know about the rest) have some problem with the top of the luff sleve. the stiching comes apart.. it happened to some friends of mine sails and recently my 3month old sail.. while rigging..
so watch out for that if you getting 2004

I can’t tell you how devastated I was when my brand new (used 2 times) Severn s2 punched a hole thru the stitching at the top of the luff when I was inserting the mast. I blamed my self for poor rigging technique, but your message (and the fact that I ahve been rigging other brands for years)has got me thinking I should make an enquiry with the distributor.
I am very keen to support a local company, but Mr Ben's ears must have been burning when the mishap happened.
