Hi there, looking for some advice about places to hire gear off the beach and places to stay.
My wife and our 6month old are going to be around perth the begining of febuary.
She currently sails a 150L board, just getting into the straps.
I am happy blasting on whatever.

The two places I can see are GO windsurfing down south and Werners Hotspot in Lancelin.

Is there any where to stay around Saftey bay?

How do the two places compare for an intermediate sailor?
What are the respective beaches like? ( When I first looked at the pictures on the go windsurfing site, it looked fantastic, swayoing palm trees, white sand.. of course I was looking at their Fiji Gallery after that saftey bay didn't compare as well.)

A we have a baby in tow, convenience is pretty high on the list, camping in Gnarlaroo is probally out

Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,
There is lots of accomadation around Safety Bay, ranging from a holiday let which will cost you approx $100 der day ,right on the beach, or b&b which costs $100 per night. Not sure what their policy is with young kids.
Lancelin is an excellent spot to sail if you are more advanced, with the waves outside the reef, but the water inside the bay is pretty choppy, so less suited to intermediates, where as Safety Bay is flat as a pancake, and much less gusty than close in at Lano.
For more info , please do not hesitate to contact me.

Nick,

Given what you've described Safety Bay is best for you and your family, Lancellin is more hardcore for young families, and Simon is a top bloke.

Safety Bay has lovelly flat water for speed and slalom on the inside and rolling swells for long bay runs.

lancellin at this time of year is crowded, but has great flat water slalom and great wavesailing.
