I had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours on a mate's board last weekend....free-style / cross, 235long - 74wide.

A far cry from my 165lt freeride, but seems to have the 'liveliness' of a traditional (big)- waveboard, but with the ease of a large freeride. The conditions were mild, and I'm keen to see how it performs in strong winds.

I realise that 127lts is HUGE to most wave-jumpers, but as a 100kg (+GST) rider, without getting too technical, would there be a downside to the width if the rider was keen on getting into some (small) wave-action (hypothetically, you know.......friend of a friend case-study)?

You just drop your back foot out of the strap and move it around a bit. It's a bit like Mal riding, longer turns.

It's never going to handle like a wave board but a normal wave board wouldn't get you out in the real light stuff

I'm a 100kg and when the wind's light I'll go out on my RRD TwinTip... a 115 litre freeride board (really a slalom) in small to medium waves.

I remove the two back footstraps, replacing them with one in the middle and put in a slightly swept back fin.

No, it's not like a wave board, but you'd be surprised how hard you can cut back when you stomp your 100kg's down on to a rail.

The main thing: It's light wind and you're out on the waves. I use a very large wave sail - MauiSails 6.2 Global - which has a good bottom end.

We are not males, we're Muppets, thats why Ernie and Bert can live together in a loving relationship without the Homophobes going of.

Must say that with all the profits I make from my likeness I now own Big Bird.

Come here you big oversized feather duster you got some housework to do
