Hi all,

I'm considering coming over (from NZ) for the Slalom Nats which are scheduled for 5-8 Nov at Sandy Point. Are these still happening? Doesn't seem to be a notice of race or entry form around...

Thanks
Brett Morris

No worries, I'll look out for an update next week.

On a side note the NZ Slalom Nationals are in Dunedin from 5th to 9th February, entry is free for international competitors. ($50 deposit refunded on showing up)

And for all those guys that booked houses, you'll are screwed!!! Oh wait - that would be me.

Quite a few guys have already committed time and money - so if you want to come to Sandy Point anyway, we'll be there.

Got a boat. Got some buoys. I guess we will have slalom racing somehow..... Maybe KA will sponsor it?[}:)]

I'll be there too, with bells on. I'm all paid up already at the house Matt's booked. Heck the Queenslanders can have the event. I'll take Sandy Point thanks. Beautiful one day, effing windy the next.

Will be shifting house that week - if it's windy I'll come down for some speed or buoy bashing. Lets have some fun at Sandy regardless.

From the AWA website:

Slalom Nationals

[15/10/2008]
Please be aware that the Nov 2008 Slalom National Championship is now very likely to be relocated to Ramsgate Beach, Sydney, 8-9 Nov 2008.

This is strictly subject to approval of Aquatic and Council licenses. Failing timely approval the event will be cancelled.

Unfortunately the Sandy Point venue has become untenable for a number of reasons, and whilst we have fought to keep the event/venue happening, the general consensus this week is better to relocate than have a bad event.

Please await a further announcement over the next couple of days.
Regards
Brett Morris
AWA President

Keep your eyes on www.windsurfing.org.au for the next announcement. Bummer about Sandy Pt!

Thanks, I'll keep a lookout. If it is in Sydney I assume I'll need to bring a lifejacket?
