The foam foot pads on the deck of my slalom board are slippery as... Slip, slop, slam when I put my back foot on the pad in front of the back straps during a gybe.

I was thinking of giving the pads a quick touch up with some coarse sand paper. Has anyone tried this Does anyone have a better idea Decrep Had a narrow miss with leg and slalom fin tonight...

Rub sand into them before you sail, white pads seem the most slippery. They use talcum powder in the formulae when they make them l think. If this fails paint them with a filler resin lightly, hot mix, then throw coarse sugar on them. Do a test on someting else to get it right first. l dont think wax is a good idea.
Good luck

Thanks Stoney, I'll give that a go next time. They are indeed white pads.

Not a Starboard though...
