I feel sorry for you. Had probably one of my worse holidays ever there, but heard the resort has been upgraded in the last few years.
The Whitsundays are likely to be quite windy that time of year with southeast trades 20-25 knots. Problem is, it doesn't get in where the resort is. You would have to bring your own stuff as well as I doubt they would have anything useable. Get yourself on an island where the resort faces southeast like Daydream or Lindeman and you will get some good bump and jump sailing.
