Hey guys,

Went down to the south Perth foreshore today (right near where they hire out Windrush surfcats)

Easterly came in nicely there, was blasting from shoreline to shoreline from about 9:30 to 12:00, swung around to the north and got a bit more patchy, practiced non planing gybes and got some fast tacks in. Saw a couple kiters down there, one learning with an instructor. Plus one bloke learning to windsurf – had a quick chat. Stayed for a good 6 hours with some of the family onshore mixed with some all out flat water windsurfing.

Wind was gusting to about 22 knts with the bad tendencies of an easterly, still fun with my 5.0m, tiga 285 and myself at 65kgs

anyone else sailing round here? good for this direction of wind.

James

Yes did go down to Off Melville, got there late, NE blowing, broke some gear (second-hand stuff I picked ages ago) Botched up with a few adaptations to get going and those bloody wind gods, just grinned and hit the big "letsturneroff" for today switch after only one half baked run. Only two others there all afternoon. Few others with gear, but no starters. Not enough squashed air
Might give the spot you indicate a go next time on NE . If I had bothered to look left driving over the Narrows I would maybe have seen the windsurfers on the water, and gave it a shot there.
Ahh well maybe Thursday Friday this week,,, maybe
