Their outline looks very much like a 2007 S-type (which were pretty good boards). Everything old is new again.

Looks just like a futura to me, the real carves were the blue carve boards they made before the futura came on the market, i think the old blue carves were the best boards ever made and i am looking for one in a 100 liter if any one has one?? I find the new boards really slow to sail, there to dam wide, and there not as comfortable to windsurf like the older boards. There only good for one thing turning!

It seems that they're only making the larger sizes, 120, 130 & 140 litres.

Maybe the Futura lives on?

Maybe Starboard made a mistake by dropping the carves, they were good boards,be interesting in the future to see if they make smaller sizes

I rode my 122 ltr 2007 Carve yesterday, hadn't sailed it in about a year, it was bloody awesome fun, very fast comfy ride, gybes are so much easier on these boards.

Good marketing.

When you've got a Name that has been synonymous with winning magazine test reviews year after year, it makes sense to go back to it after a few years break.

....it's to do with brand recognition and appeals to a persons loyalty to "an old favourite".

Mistral have done this with names like the "Screamer"

I have the blue 99 litre carve never damaged in mint condition (needs new straps) and I love it! Beuatiful board, i'm 85kg and can sail it in anything from 15 knots thru to 40 knots... with sail sizes ranging from 7.4m to 4.7m (all proven) the 7.4 is a little big but it works... anyway i love the board i think i might leave it in the garage leaning up against the exocet rocket and see if they make baby boards!

Still got a 2002 Carve 80 - one of the original freestyle wave boards. A great fun board and a hoot to ride when powered up!!

I've got a 2006 110 Carve and a 2005 98 JP FreeStyleWave. I honestly find the JP far easier to gybe, I've yet to plane out of one with the carve. I know, weird. Could be just be the curvy FSW fin vs a MFC Liquid Pro?

Still I absolutely love the Carve from 15-20 knots, or protected, flat water above that. Crisp and fast. But I find the crispness completely teeth shattering in sizeable chop. Needs flat water. Again the JP smokes it in chop.

Planes early too. A 7.2 KA Koyote and a 40cm MFC Liquid pro, If a kite can plane I can plane. Often better 'cause I can float in the holes.

The carve is best off the wind on flat water with too big a sail

... having two boards is good
