Conditions were awesome last Saturday in Sydney.

I sailed Newport Reef with about 5 other guys. 25 to 30 knots, 3/4 mast high. Pounding shorebreak.

Anyone sail Makaha or Manly Bommie or Wanda?

Unreal to see the boys out. I was first out on the evo 74 and found the limitations of these New Gen style boards. At 56cm it wsa too wide and therefore bouncy in the bottom turn - quite sketchy. It provides a case for hanging on to the old school narrow waveboard I have - at 51cm it would have been much more suited to these conditions. But for 80% of my sailing in Sydney, Onshore Long Reef or underpowered side shore at Cronulla it works very well.

Every so often Newie turns it on!!!
