I have a 76L Fish with a tail of 43cm and was wondering how does this compare to the tail of the 75L Evo?
What is different/similar between the performance of the two tail shapes?
Quickest to plain, better turner, jumping and waveriding?
Im happy with my Fish (2002) but if there is better performance on the Evo (2006) I will consider an upgrade

Greeny,

I'm not really up on all the technical details, but a wider tail equals earlier plaining, but with the loss of some manouverability.

What shapers have been trying to do, is compensate with with other design features, to give both early planing and manouver..

One way would be to make a flatter rocker in the planing area, some tweaks in the plan outline, and rail shape and you can get a board with a narrower tail, that planes as eraly or earlier than a board with a wider tail, yet is more manouve....

The old adage still applies........ "Try before you buy"
