Well. It seems as though this may be the one. The forecast is wild for the Comp window and the light forecast is 25-30 knots. With higher winds and swell to 4m to follow over the weekend. Talk about taking the season out with a bang. High winds, large waves, top parties, xlnt trophies and cash. Wish you were here?

WindWarrior would like to wish our newest team Rider Dean Hendrie all the best in the Tabou comp at Currumbin in Qld
With the predicted wind and waves it should be a great event and we'd expect every competitor to have ear splitting grins by the end of every session !
Keep an eye out for Deano pushing the big moves and sporting some of our latest designs including the Blastshield metalite top (supa thin, supa comfortable, supa flexable, supa light and supa warm)along with a few of our proto type wetsuit designs

Go get em Deano but most importantly have a great time in what looks set to be awesome conditions

Well the Tabou was a success this year. The wind and WAVES were awesome. Lots of big moves and some mind numbing wipeouts. Dean Hendrie did claim a $50 cash prize for the biggest wipeout as he and his gear come down with the lip on a mast + wave. Then got sucked over the falls in the next. I have to appologize to Kirk Koster from OzWindsurf. When i made my thankyou speech for the sponsors and volunteers. I missed thanking Kirk. Kirk was the sponsor who supplied competitors and officials with 50 cent beers at the surf club on saturday night OzWindsurf Party. So, Thanks alot Kirk for your support of the event!!!!!

Dan Berry got the opens. Jon Bouillir Masters, Ben Fawkes the Juniors, Sue Woolley the womens and David Lewis-Hughes cleaned up in the grand masters. A sterling effort by all competitors. The conditions were testing for all.

One of the reason's Dean Hendrie is a WindWarrior Team Rider, apart from his continual presence as one of the top 5 wavesailors in this country at the Nationals, is his commitment to testing out our range.

When we asked Dean to put the WindWarrior gear through it's paces at the Tabou Comp in QLD he responded with a casual 'yeah no problem'
The fact he put himself through a mast high plus washing machine solely for the purpose of 'research and development' is a testament to his commitment
Believe it or not, but after purposely getting smacked by a mast high lip and then getting sucked over the falls and put through the saltwater washing machine on full 'heavy duty cycle' Deano asked if we needed him to do it again... for testing purposes only of course!

And just for the record, his WindWarrior kit was in perfect condition after the workout and its striking colour scheme actually made it possible for those on the beach to track Dean's path over, under and through the wave !
WindWarrior Team Rider Luke Johnson has been doing similar r&d testing in Maui
Luke has been researching the cushioning impact charateristics of our Blastshield range by throwing himself fearlessly into double forward after double forward attempt

Now that's commitment to testing from our team rider department

That Wind Warrior top that Dean wore at the Tabou was also great in competition. The judges knew the bright orange top was Deano. No need to look for numbers. They knew him from the start and got to witness first hand, the durability of the garnment. "Get noticed in Wind Warrior".
