Sailed today from 6.30 am till 9am,river was a mass of white caps.

Only took big sail 6.5m code-red thinking it would not be too strong,gusting 26 knots on graph but felt stronger.Came in twice to give it extra downhaul,second time twisting sail off down to boom and still overpowerd.

De-rigged and Severne 4 pulley system went bang such was the downhaul pressure.

Anyway 6.5m for me great up to 18/20 knots,above that my 5.7m Warp so much less drag,lesson learned the hard way.
