Hi All,

I would like to inform the windsurfing community that we have organised a kiteboarding event at the Pond (Safety Bay) this coming Saturday on the 8th.

Given the small area of water that is present, we are expecting things to get a bit crowded, and so I would like to ask that for this one day of the year, if we could please be given priority for use of the bay.

I do not want to upset anyone, and of course all water users have equal rights to the area, but I was hoping that perhaps we could take possesion for the day to run our event with minimum chance of collisions or disputes between kiters and windsurfers.

I would like to think that if you guys were running a similar event, then the kiteboarding community would give you a wide berth on the day to run your event without interuption.

All our riders will be briefed on the day, and instructed to act courteously to all other water users. We also have full time safety Marshalls on duty to help keep the action orderly, and incident free.

We are expecting 30 kiters to compete during the day, with some of the best local and international riders competing. It should be a great show, and we'd love you to come along and check out the action.
