Big thanks to the guy who lent me his multi tool, and also the other guy who just happened to have a set of allen keys. i havnt been out sailing for at least 18 months and my universal decided it would seperate.
i will have to go thru the rest of the gear and do a bit of a check to avoid this in future

The train was awsome, lots of crew out, low tide so you get flatwater goodness, and the wind was at a consistant level.

its been a while since i have felt this sore today.

Hey, dont knock the "old school" gear. She goes alright for 12 year old gear.

Hey i will take that "not a starboard so its outta place in my garage" board off your hands.

Im still sore today, must pull my finger out and get out more. Sunday was great. you know youve had a great day when you want to do more runs but the body lets you down.

Im happy with my gear, hey its old, the boards made from recycled coke bottles, but it gets me on the water and i dont freak out when i go round the mast.

Years ago when i was living in Perth, i had the flash gear, the strapper slalom board, the quiver of sails, and i can honestly say it didn make any difference to my sailing ablility, it was **** then as it is now, maybe i make more gybes now then i did back then.

Im buying Nates old wave board so i can hit up some ocean sailing. years ago i would sail miles offshore at woodies pt, yet last saturday i sat on the beach at burliegh worried about some shore break, pathetic i tell you. no confidence as im getting older.

it was a great session on sunday, it brought back the sailing passion i had missed for a while. Sailing with great crew makes a difference too i feel.

skinny, come and hit the waves with us, we sail at either Miami or Currumbin Alley, next week is looking good for the alley, good crew of people as well, always helping and looking out for each other.

Nate said it was the best spot to start out. I tried sailing there a few years back and ended up doing the lacy's triathlon. by the time i got back to the carpark i was shagged.

skinny, even the best sailors have done, and still do the triathlon!

Its just the nature of the beast at the alley, you just cant afford to catch the waves in too far in a s/easter.

Goldcoastmoz, im sure once you get on wave style board you will enjoy it heaps, I only started in August last year, and love it!

As far as poaching, maybe I am trying to protect the innocent from the nasties at the train!

hi curac, only quite small, we need the cyclone season to push thru some big southerly swell, up till now its mainly been N/e 2-3ft max

but thru the cyclone season it can get bloody big!

Hey Haircut,

Yes I have the 92 evo and trendy 4WD; if subaru forester = trendy?

As you can see I've made stuff all posts - dont even have one star, so no surprise you haven't caught me here before. But I'm on here often checking the conditions and amusing myself with the posts. I'm a bit of a voyeur actually - just watching, not contributing... seething when all you buggers are out sailing during the day and I'm stuck in the office

Haven't been to the train much lately, I'm living at Burleigh on the beach so its easier just to rig and cross the road, rather than load the car up. Was good to see so many on the water - havent seen it so busy in ages.

And skinny

- I wasnt bagging the gear, I havent sailed that fast in ages - although I'm not sure whether I was sailing really fast, or if it just felt that way because the board was so unstable

Consider the amount of gear we break in 2 ft waves
Then tell me why we want cyclonic swell

Hey Chairman,

Your evo confided to me not so long ago:

"Man, I'm built for waves, turn on a dime, just want to smack that lip, and my owner is too chicken to give it a go despite being well good enough to try it. All I want to do is go waveriding at Currumbin this weekend with that big south easter that's forecast..."

I don't know what it was talking about, I don't speak Starboard that well, perhaps you know what's going on?

righto chairman, good point, but I think our issue was more to do with that king tide sucking up, it was killer!

Mate the boys at the alley rave about how easy the big swell is, mmmm, might watch a session before joining in!

Hey good to see the poms made the finals

Chairman, have you sailed the alley in a s/easter yet?

strange how at currumbin the bigger it is the less dumpy it gets, until you sail all the way into palm beach into the tumble dryer
