What gives you the biggest buzz? A huge jump you land perfectly and sail away from, a belting downwind run on the edge of control, carving the face of a wave to pieces or pulling out of a laydown gybe and sailing away planing?

I was thinking about it and I think horses for courses, everyone will be different. But damn, I love going fast.

I think by far a perfect bottom to top turn combo. Very rare for me hahahhaa but when you get the wave hollow and pitching and fast, the G's you get as you do almost a 180deg direction change on the spot and the lip smacks the board back toward the beach. Nice :)

Getting planing on big gear in marginal conditions and to keep planing in between gusts

Getting 6 waves in a row, while the lone poler is still battling out to the horizon and back struggling to make ground upwind back to the take off point,
then he misses the set waves and has to battles out again, lol
Finally he gets a wave, and even though you have right of way, you wave him onto it, after all, you have had 15 waves and the poor old dudes been tacking non stop for 20mins.
Get a buzz knowing I have done a good deed for the day, like when I was young at scouts, getting a badge for helping an old lady across the road.
Then he asks you on the beach how much to buy kite gear is. lol Which gives me even a bigger BUZZ knowing that I have helped him enjoy the waves more than he could ever have imagined.

waves, bottom turn, hit a lip, fins let go, back of board slides, then you pull it together and do it all again.
Then again, the adrenalin rush of just going downwind and going fast is pretty good, worth all the tacking back upwind.
Then again, a good jump, looking down at all the gear below you and then landing.
Pretty good sport all round.

Well it's changed a lot over the years. My first buzz was the very first time I hopped on a windsurfer, and managed to sail it to the other side of Dolphin pool.
The next big one was on my intermediate, hearing that dreaded rat a tat sound of a passing planning sailor, looked behind me to see who it was, and there was nobody there!!! The rat a tat was me! I was planning properly.

Then there was my first bottom turn at Pt Moore, and realising wave sailing was only a little bit different to surfing.

Then as I became more proficient in the waves, as others have said, stringing a pile of fast manoeuvres together, landing a long high jump very softly, powering up and hitting the next wave a second or 2 later and doing it all again.

Now it's more about getting GTC PBs and getting the Mandurah Mob up the ladder.

Sailing a new remote spot that's sharky. Not knowing how the place works and not having the luxury of a local guide. Gives me butterflies. All good fun though

Bearing off at speed on the edge of control is up there.

I do remember one high and almost vertical jump, being hit by a very strong gust as I landed and landing fully planing.

I like the feeling of satisfaction I get when I'm so dialed into my kit that i can predict exactly what a 1cm change in a setting will do to the performance of my setup. Nice feelin to be so in tune with your gear!
