Gidday all, A mate and I have new wave boards and upon closer inspection we have both discovered a small piece of plastic across the mast box a couple of cm's from the front of the box. It stops you putting your mast base all the way forward. Does anyone know what and why they are there?? My other fairly recent boards dont have them. Both boards are different brands. Any info appreciated Cheers
ive seen that before but it was a metal rod instead. ithink it might be to put a cable lock onto and lock the board to the roofrack etc ?? anyone else?
I have seen them on some boards, but not for a few years. Don't think you'd get the mast track further forward by removing it, as it is about the same distance from the front as what half a deck plate NUT is wide. IE: the nut would hit the front of the box about the same time as the bolt would hit the crosswise rod doo-whacky .... if anything you'd get it maybe 2mm further forward. If you can feel 2mm difference you'd be sponsored and you'd tell YOUR board manufacturer to remove it
