Hi Mackay
Do you sail at Kinchant much ?
What conditions are good?
I'm lookin to hook up with some people to sail with.
I work in Moranbah so I can only get over on weekends.
Mackay has so many places to sail and so few people????

Hi Sailguy,
I don't sail up at Kinchant much mainly 'cause it's full of power boats and jetskis when the weather is good. With a south easterly (normal) the wind anchors to the headland and gives a massive knock the closer you get to the shore. Just makes coming in a drag!
There are about twenty sailors in Mackay who mostly end up at Far Beach. Some only turn up when it's really blowing and some turn up every W/E. I sail with 2 guys and we normally sail a couple of hours either side of high tide every W/E. As the tide goes out the water gets really flat and I get to stack at much higher speeds and do more damage to the boards so I generally sail then. I must like the smell of epoxy resin and picking the drips off the verandah. If the winds not on, I am normally there with the kids and the wally just muckin' around. I'll be there on Saturday about 11am but I'll update here if it changes. I run Orange KA's. Who are you with in Moranbah?
