Hi There All

I am a novice windsufer I have completed a series of classes and now am looking to buy a board to last me a couple of years sailing.

Has any one tested or had a go on a Tiga Freemove I am considering buying one 2nd hand. Any one have any suggestions for a freeride board that would cover the river and the ocean on the calmer days for a novice.

Any suggestions would be a help

Paddy, Tiga makes a lot of great boards if you're just starting out. They're strong and perform pretty well in a variety of conditions. Which one in particular were you looking at?

Good luck at expecting to keep it for a couple of years, as you get better and the bug bites you......well.....most of us here have been through that

I don't reckon you can go wrong too much these days with board shapes.

In the early days of learning, you are still a bit "numb" to what the board is doing so board selection is not overly critical .. To keep having the most fun though, you want to be planing most the time, so as 1 Litre of volume floats about 1 Kg .. I'd suggest something that's 5-10 litres above your weight .. don't know how this figures with your 125L selection..

When buying second hand, pay attention to the weight .. if it's had a hole in it, the extra volume will be negated by the fact it's full of water!

Good luck & have fun.. Laurie

Good call laurie, I never knew what difference shape made when I was learning, I just needed it to float me and perform (my tiga freecross 125lt jumped awesome ) So that being said, If your going for a 125 then yeh, do it. If technology keeps advancing it's got to be a step up from what I used a few years ago and this is the whole point. The boards now days are so good they get you going faster, better, stronger, sooner .

Don't start blitzing me on the water though or I'll take it off you

Hey Paddy
I have a 6metre arrows dragster bought this year it is in as new condition, paid $500 you can have it for $350, I reckon it would be a good first up sail easy to rig, with great windrange. Give us a call on 0413511295 if you are interested.
