i have been a victim of taking advice from the chair police and totally turned me off windsurfing for a few years !!!!
I heard the KERNEL or old ken got the hell out of the train park and now there are more sailors. Now it seems to be some decent guys who want to help but also sail, Guys like HAIRCUT AND GETSALT are the ones who i take my hat off to because they are good to talk to and have got me interested in saing a lot more.
Don't be discouraged by the chair bandits! you got to learn to enjoy windsurfing and thats what i am doing !!!!!!

Screw em, let them laugh it up and when you kick their ass on the water cause you are sailing 4 times as much you most certainly get the last laugh.

How many of these clowns are there?

A certain amount of tomfoolery is ok but causing people to leave the spot is stepping over the line.

lol, the current chair police are generally all very nice people who will help you out! The train has really improved in the last two years, a much more pleasant place to be now - except for the wierdos who venture into the park at times

Thanks for the very nice comment goldcoastmoz

I have to agree with goldcoastmoz comments about the 'chair police' back when I was first learning to windsurf, I have to say the 'chair police' didn’t offer any real feeling of comfort in fact on occasion I could swear that they were blatantly laughing at me and my mate. They are certainly not very approachable when compared to people like Gestalt and others. But like others say, who cares, just get out and have fun!! but it can be off-putting. I know when I sail at Manly or Wello half the fun and enjoyment is being able to socialize with the guys and there are no chair police in those locations. Perhaps the chairs should be illegal?

Had a great hour or so at shearwater this arvo

I catch you at the train tomorrow. Good tide and hopefully a seabreeze on top of the current forecast to go with it

To all the Kernal Knockers, he was the first bloke you went to when you broke a down haul rope or a harness line.

The colonel had a habbit of finding us, whether we liked it or not, like a bloody window washer at the traffic lights and they are still there, but i'm sure some folk appreciated him

Nothings changed except for the improvement of the general vibe, and everyone tries to help each other out when needed. Still some cheap gear floating around amongst everyone from time to time. Just in the last 18 months there are more people windsuring here than during any other of the last 5 years that I've windsurfed.
