Start at Thompson's [something, I think it's esplanade?] carpark, rig up on the grass there. Walk your kit over the little concrete breakwall, and follow the trees on the sand until the water gets deep.
Just as you get to the deep water, look at your 10 O'clock position, this is where you want to be, about a km or two distance. So sail along on a starboard tack, watch for the channel markers, keep them on your right because you don't want to hit the mud bank at full tilt. If you do this then you will spend the next month re-nosing your board.
Chances are tomorrow you'll see some other mad windsurfers out there so you'll be right.
