Well that explains it bluejuice, I normally only got to the beach about 4, mainly surfed ocean beach.
Sounds like you were further round the bay than I was, that's one of the good things about Parrys, you can drive round the bay untill it's sideshore.
oj, Esperance needs a big high in the bight, producing strong easterlies.
side off in the morning, side on in the arvo. Dec to Feb are about the best bet. If you're here in Jan there's a good chance of waves and wind.

there is a few spots a little closer you should check out, Gero and Leno. The ledge to leno will also be on, in the time you are visiting worth checking out even if you go just for the party, you migth just catch some nice wave action while your there as well.Margrets is a great place but not for the inexperienced great wave sailing but just be aware that this place wants to destroy your gear
.Esperence is about 10 hrs from perth and the wind can be a little fickel at times but has some of the best beaches around .
